As of April 1st, 2011 we are reverting to our summer hours… which means we will be opening at 7:00pm instead of 5:00pm. We look forward to pouring your drink and watching you crash your jenga tower then.

The Guilties

The holidays are upon us. Everybody’s drunk. Weird Santas are roaming the streets. Here at Guilt & Co. we are celebrating by cracking two fresh seasonal beer casks next Wednesday December 22nd at 6:00 and 7:30pm consecutively. There is no better thing in this world than fresh beer. Fact.

Additional heads up: we are closed December 24-27th for the holy days. So if you need us, you’ll have to pray about it, cuz we’ll be snuggling with several cups of coffee and Bailey’s and reading books about distilling and fermenting and stuff.

We so look forward to seeing you on the 28th of December or any other future date.

Also, don’t forget our Night of Mystery Masquerade on NYE. There are still a few tickets left. Dancers! Live electronica! Circus performance! Masks! Bubby!

Well, the days are getting shorter (and darker and colder) and we’re thinking a couple of things:
1) you want to be here earlier and more often, we know
2) you’re going to want some hot drinks and some comfort food, right?

So. As of Friday October 14th we are now open at 5:00pm! (woooooo hoooorahhhh!!) And nudge nudge: we will be launching a new menu very soon, and it will include hotness and heartiness galore.

Aren’t games cool? Did you know that some board games even predate literacy in the earliest civilizations? Well that’s what wikipedia says! The earliest recorded board game was found in an Egyptian tomb and dated 3500 B.C.

So it looks like we may have started a trend here at Guilt & Co. because there’s a (kind of) new coffee shop in Toronto called Snakes & Lattes where they do not allow laptops and have a collection of over 1500 board games! I have no idea who they could afford that many games. By my calculation those would have cost in the neighborhood of $45,000!! Anyway, kudos to them!

We are so so excited to be a part of the upcoming Olio Festival! Olio features 45 events over 4 days and is a neighborhood crawl. Thursday is Gastown day, and we’re hosting a really exciting local show. Who can you see here? Well firstly we have a Pump Trolley Comedy show from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Following that there will be four amazing bands: Falcao & Monashee, The Abramson Singers, Lovers Love Haters, and Certain Breeds. Open til 1:00am. You can join the fun for $10 or for nothin if you have a festival wristband.

What else is the haps? The Chili Fest is coming up tomorrow. All of our neighbors are going to be having a massive cook-off. In fact, there is a giant taxidermic bison head being stored in our rum tunnel which is going to be put on display somewhere in CW tomorrow.
